The last leg of our trip to the post office

This is a seaman's memorial put here in the channel by the Shrimporees in honor of all seaman lost here. There was 7 Coast Guard sailors lost trying to rescue a distressed shrimp boat. They have a big plaque with all the fishermen's names posted on it. The big ball was damaged in the coast guard rescue. This happened in 1970. The big anchor was brought up by a shrimp boat in 1970 and they believed it was a 100 years old then. Dating it back to the Civil War times when the battles were fought here on the water.

This is the end of our trip to the post office. Sure beats going to the post office in Pleasant Hill Ohio.
Have great day we sure are!
