SCUTTLEBUTT

We live in an exciting town. We saw this in the paper. AMMUNITION AND RIFLES FOUND ON BOAT A routine inspection of a commercial fishing vessel Monday in Aransas Pass yielded two assuault rifles and more than 2000 rounds of ammunition, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office reported.

Agents boarded the boat, bound for South America, in Conn Brown Harbor and discovered the weapons inside secret compartments, according to a news release.

Agents found 1,060 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition and 1,000 rounds of 5.56 mm ammunition.

The captain did not include the cache in his outbound declaration. No arrests were made, but several government agencies will continue investigating, according to the news release.

We grabbed the camera and took off for Conn Brown Harbor. It is about 2 miles from us. We decided this was the only boat it could be. This is the Deep Sea Champion. If we hear anymore we'll let you know. With the pirates out there I would want more protection than that.
