Scuttlebutt

You can't depend on us getting our facts straight. Now they are saying it is one of these boats butted up close together, that was supposed to be confiscated.
But if I was going to S A on a boat I'd rather it would be this one, the Clarissa it's bigger.

How's this for a dingy? It could be this one.

Not much going on just the usual ice cream partys and card playing. I have played Euchre almost every night. I know someday you'll read this and we miss you Joan.

The beach and the ferry has been packed since it is spring break. Guess it has been up to 2 hours for the ferry, we'll go some other time.

St Pat's Party

Guess you know who these dummies with the Christmas plates for the St Pat's party is. Hey I got them and I'm using them up. The party was at 5:00, they are always at 5:30. You guessed it we were late, but the worse part was I set the oven so all Dad had to do was hit the start button at a certain time. Which he did and I took off to play 99 and I won that day too. So I got home and said oh good you started the oven. Well I got my key lime bars out of the refrig and you guessed it there was the dish that I thought was cooking in the oven. So I sent Dad up to the den and I said I'll just do it in the microwave but at least they'll know we are coming. He came back laughing and said they are eating it started at 5. Needless to say everybody laughed at us and with us as we came in with the dish of cut up smoked sausage but they ate them and the bars too.

Our friends Frank & Chan left Friday morning to meander back to Montrose CO. We had lunch with them at Charlotte Plumbers. I'm sorry but I think that is a dumb name for a restraunt. The food was good but pricey. We were sorry to see them leave. They are holding their new sign they just got. Pretty neat name.

Miss Madelyn is a little tug that is working on building the new covered docks at the Aransas Pass Yacht Club. Well really all she does is push the big ole barge around.

This is the egret waiting on Miss Madelyn to come thru the channel and head back to Rockport.

Have some St Pat's trivia for you. St Pat's day became a national holiday in 1903. New York has the largest parade. St Patrick was Irish by birth and born 461 AD. 13 million pints of Guinesswas consumed on St Pat's day. If a leprechaun captures a human you get 3 wishes. Blue was the original color not green. A leprechaun is really an Irish shoemaker. Remeber this for the test.

SCUTTLEBUTT

We live in an exciting town. We saw this in the paper. AMMUNITION AND RIFLES FOUND ON BOAT A routine inspection of a commercial fishing vessel Monday in Aransas Pass yielded two assuault rifles and more than 2000 rounds of ammunition, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office reported.

Agents boarded the boat, bound for South America, in Conn Brown Harbor and discovered the weapons inside secret compartments, according to a news release.

Agents found 1,060 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition and 1,000 rounds of 5.56 mm ammunition.

The captain did not include the cache in his outbound declaration. No arrests were made, but several government agencies will continue investigating, according to the news release.

We grabbed the camera and took off for Conn Brown Harbor. It is about 2 miles from us. We decided this was the only boat it could be. This is the Deep Sea Champion. If we hear anymore we'll let you know. With the pirates out there I would want more protection than that.

DEMOLITION CREW

Last summer when we were back in Ohio the Aransas Pass Yacht Club docks burned. I don't know how many boats were lost. They are tearing out all the big pilings and steel roofing on the docks. Miss Frankie the tug brought in 3 barges. They used one for their work, a big crane to pull the pilings out. The one barge was full of trash, I mean full. We thought some of the pilings were not but a little scorched, but out they come anyhow. We just can't believe how they waste money. We enjoyed watching them work.

Not much going on we had an ice cream social and I baked a cocoanut cake and took up. Everyody liked it Dee, sorry we didn't save you a piece. Just don't have room in the deep freeze, too much fish. Boy that fish will taste good in Ohio.
It doesn't seem possible that we only have 26 days left here. Of course that depends on that Yankee weather if we leave on the 1st.
