One more week

Had some really neat pictures to show you from the beach and wouldn't you know the stupid camera, or guess I should say camera operator. I don't mean the photographer either. Picasa made it so simple for me and then they changed everything. If I ever figure it out you'll still get to see them. We have never seen a ship like this one, couldn't wait to show you. Oh well you know the old saying about mice and men and I might add blog writers.

We have one more week here and then head out.
We've been telling people goodby every day. So you can see no matter how much we want to see everybody up north, we still have mixed emotions. At our ages we may never see some of these people again. But Lord willing we'll be back living the easy life again next fall. Probably my hardest job is writing our blog. Beating some of these card sharks and not losing all the kids inheirantance.

We had an ice cream social this week and went to the jam session. The keyboard player saw me come in and played Twelth Street Rag for me again. Played a lot of cards.

The man came to wash the motor home today and it really looks beautiful.. Even if I do say so.

One more time from Texas.

Warm weather

Well you can tell it is about time to meander towards the north, we are finally getting the weather we had all last year.

We have decided to stay another week and hopefully soak up some sunshine. As at this writing we will be leaving April 7th instead of April 1st. What a winter this has been but we are not alone when it comes to bad weather. But this week has had some beautiful warm days. Oh how we loved them. We could take our morning walks in shorts and short sleeve shirts. That's why we come down here. I know some of you thought it was to play cards for me and Dad to read a couple of books every week. By the way kids I won blackout at Pokeno so that made up for my 3 losses I had. You can rest easier now. I also won at 99 too. I now have enough to last me to play till we leave too.

I forgot to tell you last week when we went to the beach we saw several dolphins. They are so much fun to watch but you never know where they are popping up so they are hard to take pictures of.

We had a St Patrick Day party with finger foods which we attended and a sausage and pancake breakfast but it was at 9 on Sunday and we couldn't do that and go to church too, so we chose church. Thursday night we went to Corpus Christi to a country western jam session and ate supper out with another couple. We had a good time but got home too late for old people.

We had 3 birthdays back home this week and that sure makes you realize you are not getting any younger when 2 great grandkids are 15 and 16. I don't think daughter wants her age in here.

All in all it was another busy week and our lives are one week shorter. We Praise the Lord it was a great week .

Start of Spring break

This is a giant girl watching machine. Do you believe this thing driving on the beach. Somebody has too much money and too much time on their hands to build this.

Self explanatory, beautiful.

This is the big stone wall for people to walk on and fish from. Grandpa thinks it goes out into the Gulf probably 2 miles.

Last year it rained and turned chilly the week of Spring Break, looks better this year.
We have finally gotten some really beautiful weather. Time to go home right.
Been another busy fast week, don't know where the time goes. Played 99 this week and finally won, hadn't won in a long time kids were getting worried about their inheirantance again. We had a salad supper in the club house this week it was really good. We went to the big fisherman too. Had another jam session saturday night, it was good. We had to tell the owners good by Saturday that was hard we have become very good friends with them. So it is great to make new friends but hard to leave too. Quite a few have already left to head home. The owners were heading to New Mexico to the baloon rally we have always wanted to go there but kinda pricey.

GOD'S GREATEST POWER CAN BE DISPLAYED IN OUR BIGGEST WEAKNESS!

Start of Spring Break

These are pictures of the beach at Port Aransas. Needless to say the beach was pretty busy. Grandpa didn't mind leaving his book at home and going to the beach.

OYSTERFEST

This is the camel on the merry go round. Never saw a camel before.
Here's the big midway they sure weren't busy.

Here's an elderly couple at the Oysterfest, do they look familiar?

Grandpa and I thought this little Mexican girl was so cute.

I got our spring cleaning done this week. We have polished wood, clean windows and mirrors. I also washed the recliners, chairs and couch. Then I mopped the floor and our motor home gets longer every time I mop it. I don't think it is growing so it must be me. It took me all week but it is a great feeling. So thankful I can still do it.
As you can see it has beeen a busy week.
Received word from home that my only uncle died this week. It is hard when you can't go to the viewing or funeral, but we can't do everything.

I was always taught to respect my elders and now I don't have any to respect we are the elders.

OYSTERFEST

We went to the Oysterfest this afternoon with another couple from the park. This was the big food tent. I had oysters, Dad had shrimp and french fries and I had a funnel cake.

This is Kris and David Young from Michigan. They are holding their new sign they bought.

This is the oyster eating contest and no I did not enter.
