TEXAS MOON

The moon was so pretty and being a full moon I asked Lowell to take a picture of it. Well as you can see the picture didn't do it justice.
Here is the same moon but with a flash, I know you thought it was the sun, but that is our full Tx moon.

We had a dull week with both of us being sick. We went to the banana split party and I played 99 once and euchre once. The rest of the time was spent recouping. Which we needed. We did make it to WM and Heb's finally.

We had beautiful weather and sunshine.

WEDNESDAY'S TOUR

Our ocean and beach at Port Aransas was really showing her stuff Wednesday morning. She was wild and wooly. We had a lot to get done in a day. We were trying to show the kids all are favorite places and it was not easy. The weather did not cooperate it was cold and rainy. But we still had a wonderful day just sharing with loved ones is the most important thing in the world. They wanted to see our winter habitat and this we did. We knew we needed to give Leesa some rest time too.

The puffins are still here. You could tell which way the wind was blowing as they all headed the same direction. They just hunkered down. Tried to keep warm. Hope you enjoy our tour today.

QUICK TOUR OF CORPUS CHRISTI

Here's a full view of Nina. See all the steps on the wall. The yacht clubs in here have parades and etc.

Corpus Christi's shoreline.

We thought it would be nice if Bob & Leesa bought this boat and we could look after it for them. But it wasn't for sale so guess that's why they didn't buy it.

We drove from one end of Ocean Blvd to the other before heading back. When we got to Corpus we headed to a restaurant that I found on the TV. It was on the Diners show, if you know Bob he is into food. Anyhow it is called 5 guys. Believe it or not it was a great choice.
They knew nothing about it but loved it.

TOUR'S END

We wanted to take the kids on the USS Lexington but there wasn't time and it was cold and rainy.

This is a replica of Columbus ship the Nina.

Double click and you can read the sign.

I think she is quite beautiful love old wooden ships. From here we headed home to the motorhome for more fish for supper. The kids left Thursday morning, we hated to see them go but appreciated them coming so much.

OYSTER BOAT

This is the start of our eventful day with our company. When we started down this street I looked at my watch and thought it is too early for a oyster ship to come in, but never underestimate the power of the Lord, cause here it came.

See the big burlap bags on the boat they are full of oysters, they will be unloaded on the skids and loaded into the big reefers. Waiting on a load.

Big Tree

This big old tree kind of reminded me of a family. Here it is all spread out over everywhere and if you could see all the offsprings around it you would see all the kids and grandkids. The gnarled tree trunk shows the swollen joints. Anyhow 1000 years old is quite a few years, a little older than me. This is at Lamar Tx.

BIG TREE

Look who is in Texas isn't that wonderful. We finally got some visitors. They look chilly and it was chilly but we went out to the big tree. So double click on the signs and read all about it. 1000 years old, there are a bunch of young trees that are all off springs of this old tree.

WHOOPERS

We are assuming this is a family of whoopers. Bob ask Dad how many there are down here and Dad said 3 and there they were. This is such a rare treat for down here. I can't begin to tell you about the whooping cranes. Go to Google and click on whooping cranes. It is so interesting. Every whooper has a tag on his leg they even know when one dies. They either travel single. a pair or a family. I never knew anything about the whoopers till we came down here. They really fascinate me. I hope you enjoy them too.

WHOOPERS

This is the tallest bird in the United States Whooping Cranes are the icon of endangered species. They have a whooping crane tour down here that costs 40.00 each to see these birds thru binoculars. We were driving along the gulf in Rockport TX and here is all these people parked with big cameras so we stopped and found out they were whooping cranes. What a treat for all of us.

ONE WEEK IS ENOUGH

No pictures this week we don't need pictures we'll never forget it. We had 3 days of BAD WEATHER for us. I know you Yankees wouldn't think so, but for us it was bad. We had to thaw out our water hook up. Lowell being the old farmer he took out a pan of hot water and thawed it out real quick like. We had two mornings of this and one morning we were covered with ice. The lowest it got was 26. Our poor palm trees were covered with ice, I don't know how much they can take but the hail we had was hard on them too.

We almost run out of propane but Lowell wasn't worried he said we would make it and being right all the time we did. He'll have to read the blog to see that I said he is always right. Through all the cold we were glad we had winter clothes from Ohio. We are so blessed today we have 68 again and sunshine. How wonderful.

I got a lot of cleaning done this week for our company coming and we can't wait. Our fish supplier said don't give them frozen fish we'll have fresh fish there for them. They'll be here 2 days and we are having fish both nights, this is their request. I was told to not have a lot of other things just plenty of fish.

My little Sadie (daschund dog) is doing great that I had worked on. This AM when I went by she was out and run out to me. She knows me now. She got accidently stepped on one day. The vet wanted to operate on her cause she drug her rear end and couldn't walk. But they said she might not make it. So they came and got me and I did my snake charm on her. They are very happy and so is Sadie. She loved me working on her.

Guess that is about all for our exciting week.

THE EARLY BIRD GETS THE WORM BUT THE SECOND MOUSE GETS THE CHEESE, oh well!
